Who Is Mike Fuljenz?

Mike Fuljenz, brings over forty years of experience and expertise to any gold or numismatic related conversation. Fuljenz's extensive knowledge of the gold and rare coins is only surpassed by his commitment to educating consumers on all aspects of buying and selling gold. Known by many numismatists, Mike adds charm and wit to any topic of conversation.

A published author of four rare coin books, Fuljenz has a long-running history of numismatic awards and recognition from his peers. In 1986, Mike won his first Numismatic Literary Guild (NLG) award for his writing. To date, he has received a total thirty-seven (37) NLG Awards, including four (4) awards in Investment "Book of the Year" categories, and fourteen (14) total awards for his investment and collectibles newsletters. Most recently, in August 2011, Mike added two awards to his career total when he received his 5th overall "Best Dealer Publication" award for his newsletter, and his second straight "Best Non-Commercial Video" award. In 2010, Mike received a personally unprecedented five (5) total NLG awards, including his fourth "Best Dealer Publication" and fourth "Investment Book of the Year" Award, as well as his first ever "Best Non-Commercial Video" and "Best Writer" award for his writing in the NLG's own newsletter. His genuine understanding of and commitment to the gold and rare coin markets makes Mike Fuljenz one of today's most reliable and reputable financial experts.

From 1982-1998, he taught classes for the American Numismatic Association on counterfeit detection, coin grading, gold and commemorative coinage. He is also a past recipient of the prestigious American Numismatic Association's Presidential Service Award for his long-running professional service to the numismatic industry. Additionally, he has previously served as the committee chairman of ANACS, the grading and authentication service of the American Numismatic Association.

In 2011, Fuljenz received a "Best Investigative Radio Report" award and a "2nd Place Radio Talk Show" award from the Press Club of Southeast Texas.

Even a cursory view of his deeply experienced career resume shows undeniably that he is an expert's expert when the subject is United States rare coins.

The Mike Fuljenz Metals Market Report

May 2012, Week 3 Edition

Gold and other commodities are down, partly because the U.S. dollar is UP to the euro. In the last two weeks, the euro has fallen from $1.324 to $1.288, mostly in reaction to the recent elections in France and Greece, which have put an end to the "age of austerity" in Europe and the beginning of a new era of monetary expansion in the euro-zone. By contrast, the U.S. had a positive April - the first monthly budget surplus since 2008. The U.S. economy is growing slowly, but fast enough to give the dollar a quick boost.
