The American principle of liberty, a value held dearly by the people of the US and one upon which the nation was built, has featured on United States coinage for over 150 years. Gordon Summers, Chief Engraver at The Royal Mint, and Joseph Menna, Chief Engraver at the United States Mint, have created a design that celebrates the icons in harmony, giving each equal prominence on the reverse of a coin.
